Lingfield Tips: Dorothy’s Dancing

Likely strong pace should help her settle and she has clocked good speed figures for the grade.

Dorothy’s Dancing has consistently been generating speed ratings better than any of her rivals in the 3.30 Lingfield and should be favourite.

She has the tendency to pull hard in her races and was undone by the slack early pace in her last start, when turned over at odds-on. I wouldn’t be disheartened by the result as Slatey Hen got a soft lead and was never going to be reeled in.

I prefer to judge Dorothy’s Dancing on her penultimate start at Kempton, where she won at six furlongs, in a good time for the grade. Although the margin of victory was a neck, she was worth a bit more having hit the front and idled.

The excellent George Baker is onboard and with plenty of early speed in the race, he should be able to settle his mount in the pack before delivering a late turn of foot. At 9/2 (Betfred) she is overpriced.
