Lingfield Tips: Canyari
Ran a cracking race at Southwell, overcoming the kickback and a 5-month absence to get within half a length of the winner.
The 2.00 Lingfield is a cracking sprint handicap and although I hope Multitask runs well from a punting perspective my eye is drawn elsewhere.
Fairway To Heaven might finally come good but he ran a clunker at Wolverhampton and my patience has run out. Instead, I’m taken by the chances of Canyari.
He is the least exposed horse in the field and ran a blinder at Southwell after a 5-month layoff.
A sluggish start meant he was always playing catch-up, never an easy thing to do on the Fibresand but he stuck to his task well and rallied from two lengths down to only lose by half a length.
The overall time was good for the grade and I expect he will come on massively for the run.
He is well drawn in stall 1 and it’s too early to say whether he is a Southwell specialist because this will be his first start on Polytrack. He could be anything and at 14/1 (Betfred) is worth the risk.
