Lingfield Tips: Auric Goldfinger
Displayed a potent finishing kick on his last two starts and record in blinkers is 3214.
Auric Goldfinger was a losing tip at Lingfield eight days ago but the money was only lent and we can get it back in the 3.25 contest.
The 3-year-old was only beaten 1.5 lengths and can be counted unlucky. Held-up in rear, the race developed between the three and two-furlong pole but Auric Goldfinger was too far back and left with a mountain to climb. He covered the final 2f, 0.41s quicker than anything else in the field but his race was already over before he hit the home-straight.
Connections step him up to a mile this afternoon but the way he finishes his races suggests he should get the extra furlong. Two starts back he was again the fastest closer by 0.5s, when winning by 4.5 lengths.
If Tom Marquand can position Auric Goldfinger nearer the leaders, there is unlikely to be anything in this grade that can come close to matching his finishing kick.
