Lingfield Tips: Another Try
Enjoys downhill tracks and finished second to the smart Capone on his last AW start.
I’m slightly surprised to see Desert Strike and Kylladdie featuring prominently in the betting for the 4.10 Lingfield. Both are much better over five furlongs, rather than today’s distance of six.
This creates value further down the betting and Another Try really stands out. He keeps improving year after year and enjoys a tremendous strike rate of 6 wins from 35 races. He really excels on what I would classify as a sharp downhill track.
Courses such as Lingfield, Goodwood and Epsom are chiefly downhill, especially their 6f tracks. These similarities breed specialists like Another Try. His record over 6f at the three venues is: 121124.
Although Lingfield’s all-weather track isn’t that severe, the six-furlong course is still predominantly downhill and should suit.
