Lingfield Tip: So Beloved
Frustrating sort to follow but more closely matched to Documenting than ratings suggest and has been running in a higher grade than his rivals.
Backing a horse who hasn’t won since 2016 and is 8lbs worse off than he would be in a handicap doesn’t seem logical but often it pays to go against the crowd. On ratings, Documenting is the most likely winner but his last run at Lingfield was nothing more than ok.
He might have a rating of 105 but he’s won nothing better than a class 3 handicap. I’m not sure he’s that much better than the rest.
So Beloved is a frustrating horse given his strike-rate and running style but he’s been campaigned in better company without disgracing himself. Last time out he let Alrajaa get first run, it might not have made a difference either way but So Beloved was the only horse to make headway from off the pace and he was easily the second best horse on the day.
A strongly run 7f should suit him better. He has Adam Kirby on board who knows the horse and the track and he is actually unexposed on the all-weather with a record of 192
