Is 1/1 when racing in the grade and the handicapper has gifted him an opportunity. Third over course and distance in December with a speed rating good enough to win a race of this calibre.
There’s lots of collateral form that ties this field together; if that were the only puzzle to solve i’d be backing Roundabout Magic but there some ‘outside’ form to consider. Cappananty Con has been plying his trade in a higher grade but the handicapper has given him a chance off a mark 65. Last time he raced in this grade he won and he can improve that record to 2/2.
Last time he raced over course and distance he finished third behind Chitra and although he never looked like winning, he earned a speed rating that would win a class 6 handicap.
First-time blinkers might sharpen him up further whilst the booking of Josh Bryan is another positive given their record together reads 11234.
