Lingfield Tip: Buccaneers Vault
Finished 2017 season in progressive fashion winning class 3 handicap. Needed his first outing in 5 months at Newcastle and did well from poor draw. Should improve for the run.
Something’s probably going to have to run a career best to win the 4.25 Lingfield and the only one I can see capable of such a feat is Buccaneers Vault. He finished 2017 in progressive style winning a class 3 handicap at Doncaster and finished second at Windsor and he can continue on an upwards trajectory.
The 6-year-old should be all the better for his reappearance at Newcastle last month where he finished a creditable fourth. Keen early in the race, he was forced to race on the outside of the group from his low draw and connections would have wanted more cover for a horse having his first start in 5 months.
Under the circumstances he did well to only finish 2 lengths behind the winner and we can expect a big improvement off the same mark.
