Lingfield: Temple Road
Disappointed last time out but the slowing of pace seemed to ruin his race. Can be a frustrating horse but looked unlucky two starts back and given another chance considering the price.
Temple Road was slightly disappointing when I backed him on New Year’s Eve but watching the reply of the race he was unsuited by the pace slowing down the hill, which meant he started pulling quite hard and wasted energy. It might be that he’s become inconsistent in his old age but actually he’s always had the propensity to run a stinker.
Go back to the 22 December and he looks like a winner in waiting; waiting for a clear run that is! Given his excellent course record and the moderate opposition, i’m giving him a second chance at a juicy price.
