Lingfield: Shamshon

Tumbled down weights and first start in class 6 handicap. Can make his class pay. Close fifth on last start over C&D, running fastest closing sectional with good speed rating for grade.

Shamshon has tumbled down the weights and should capitalise on his first start in a class 6 handicap. The now 9-year-old made significant ground from off the pace on his last start over course and distance. His closing sectional of 21.77s was the fastest in the race and he made up 3.7 lengths on Spurofthemoment, who made all to win.

In defeat Shamshon earned an adjusted speed rating of 66; which is usually good enough to win a class 6 handicap. Equally Fast and Roundabout Magic finished one-two in this race last year and are the obvious dangers but Shamshon has the class advantage.
