Lingfield: Holkham Bay
Fair debut when perhaps unlucky. Got checked twice in the home straight when delivering a potentially winning run. Fastest closer that day and comes out best on adjusted speed ratings.
William Knight hasn’t had a winner for 26 days but his string a performing creditably with plenty of placed efforts. One such horse was Holkham Bay, who looked a tad unlucky on debut last month.
In defeat he clocked an adjusted speed rating of 64, the best in the race and that makes him competitive in this grade. His closing sectional was the best of the contest and although i’ve not been able to find a head on clip, it appears that Marco Ghiani, twice had to check in the home straight. The side-on shot probably underestimates the level of interference and he perhaps would have won granted a clear run.
