Lingfield: Giovanni Tiepolo

The last race of the year at Lingfield isn’t a good one but it’s worth rolling the dice with Giovanni Tiepolo. He is a 3-year-old, lightly raced and has shown glimmers of ability. He won a 5f handicap at Windsor for Henry Candy and finished a close 5th in a good time at Sandown on his last start for previous connections.

He has since moved to Roger Ingram with finishes of 070 but again not without promise. He was only beaten 4.25 lengths over 5f at Lingfield and recorded a reasonable speed rating considering the grade. He seem to lack the speed for the minimum trip therefore a step-up to 6f is considered a positive.

He has also been gelded since his last run, so you would hope that also drives an improvement in performance. In a race that won’t take much winning Giovanni Tiepolo has enough positives (also drawn in stall 2) to make a speculative wager.
