Lingfield: Dalby Forest
Showed inexperience breaking slowly from gates and subsequently stuck in rear behind steady pace but improved through race and clocked second fastest closing sectional. Better than result.
The 7.20 Lingfield isn’t the strongest race and Dalby Forest showed enough on debut to warrant an interest. He was slowly out of the gates and found himself stuck in rear behind a steady early gallop. It was the worst position he could find but showed a good turn of foot to cover the final 2f in 22.67s, the second fastest closer in the race.
The jockey didn’t give him a hard time and under the circumstance did well to finish 3 lengths behind the winner. If uses the experience and breaks on level terms we could see a big run.
