Leicester Tips: Taajub
Finished an unlucky tenth in the race last year but arrives in better form and races off a 5lbs lower mark.
Taajub finished 10th in last year’s renewal of the 4.00 Leicester but racing off a 5lbs lower mark and with some better luck he should improve on that position.
Peter Crate’s sprinter put in an eye-catching performance last time out at Ascot. He finished third overall but was best of the nearside group and unusually Shane Kelly carved out the running on this hold-up performer.
Taajub has finished third on his last two starts and despite being lightly campaigned this summer, he looks in good form.
Twelve months ago, he was sent off at the same price in a race with more runners, that looked much stronger on paper. He was hampered and beaten 4.75 lengths but he has strong claims at 13/2 (Paddy Power) granted a clear run.
