Kempton Tips: Tidal’s Baby
Ran third fastest 2f sectional last time despite finishing ninth. Yard starting to hit form after quiet winter.
Tidal’s Baby is by no means a prolific, 3 wins from 44 starts and 13 placed efforts tells its own story. However, he races off a career low mark in the 8.45 Kempton and might be able to strike in a low grade.
The 6-year-old is usually a slow starter but he completely fluffed his lines last time out at Lingfield. Held-up in rear he never made an impact in a race run at an even gallop on sharp track.
Tidal’s Baby finished ninth out of ten but ran better than the bare form. He covered the final 2f in 22.93s, the third fastest closing sectional in the race and comparable to the finishing burst of the winner.
After a couple of quiet months (no winners from 40 starts in Dec/Jan), Lee Carter is back amongst the winners and granted a strong pace, Tidal’s Baby could get in the mix at 16/1 (Bet365).
