Kempton Tips: Safira Menina
On her racecourse debut she gave away several lengths at the start but then shaped encouragingly, running a similar closing sectional to the winner.
Unraced individuals from powerful yards make the 5.00 Kempton difficult to call but at the prices, it’s worth throwing a few pennies at Safira Menina.
She was beaten by 7.75 lengths on her debut at Lingfield but shaped much better than the result.
The winner, Pharmaceutical might turn out to be a useful horse and on sectional timings Safira Menina isn’t far behind.
Ed Vaughan’s filly covered the final 2f in 22.36s compared to the winners’ 22.28s and the margin of defeat was mainly due to Safira Menina giving away five lengths at the start.
She should improve for the experience and is worth a speculative investment at 33/1 (William Hill).
