Kempton Tips: Major Muscari
Placed in 12 of his last 16 all-weather starts for Shaun Harris, winning twice. Desperately unlucky last time when undone by slow start and pedestrian gallop.
Major Muscari doesn’t have a particularly good win-rate (3-42) but he’s in rude health at the moment and can score in the 6.50 Kempton.
Since moving to Shaun Harris he has placed in 12 of his last 16 all-weather starts, winning twice (2-16). As well as his general performances, his strike rate has improved.
Last time out at Lingfield he was desperately unlucky. He reared at the start giving away several lengths and was forced to sit and suffer as the leaders trotted round.
The finishing speed was 110.6% of the overall race speed and Major Muscari had too much ground to make up as the pace quickened.
He covered the final 2f in a rapid 21.8s but even that wasn’t enough to bridge the gap as he lost by half a length.
Given a better start and/or a stronger pace, he can win in this grade. At 11/2 (Betfred) he is a cracking bet.
