Kempton Tips: Kirtling

Ran against a strong pace bias last time out and the other hold-up horses in the race have gone onto win since. Adam Kirby in the saddle is a plus.

Having only his sixth career start, Kirtling is one of the least experienced horses in the field for the 6.45 Kempton but he represents the best bet.

Last time out at Lingfield he came from a hopeless position to finish 2.5 lengths behind the winner. Held-up in rear he was left with too much ground to make up as the pack quickened in the final 2f. The finishing speed was 112% of the overall race speed which indicates how steadily run it was in the early stages.

Kirtling closed in approximately 22.4s, a decent performance from a horse rated only 60.

What A Dandy and Innoko were both inconvenienced by the steady early pace but finished strongly and both won on their next starts.

Kirtling makes up the trio of eye-catchers from the race at 9/2 (Bet365).
