Kempton Tips: Family Fortunes
Surprise winner on debut but totally merited. Clocked a 21.37s closing sectional and potentially a smart sprinter.
Family Fortunes was sent off at 25/1 on debut but his victory was no fluke. Tucked in behind a steady early pace he displayed a tremendous turn of foot and flew home in the final 2f.
Family Fortunes ran a 21.37s closing sectional, the fastest in the race by 0.72s and the 12th quickest at the track from the last 6040 runners. To do this on debut was something special.
If this wasn’t enough the overall time was good for the grade, especially considering the slack early gallop. Adjusting for pace I gave him an adjusted speed rating of 92 and if he progresses he could turn into a Listed/Group class sprinter.
With a middle-distance pedigree, this is all rather unexpected (hence his SP on debut) but he’s got plenty of speed and a 6f might prove ideal.
