Kempton Tips: Exchequer
Almost returned with a win at Newmarket, losing in a head-bob after a 167-day absence. Finished second to Kingston Hill as a juvenile.
Exchequer started the season as a fantastically exciting prospect and he can start to fulfil that potential in the 8.55 Kempton.
Back in April, he romped to victory in a Lingfield maiden in 83.33s. A time 0.29s quicker than a class 3 handicap on the same card, despite neither race being run at a strong gallop.
After flopping at Newbury six days later, he was off the track for over five months. During that period he must have suffered a training setback but he showed no ill effects when second on his comeback at Newmarket last month.
Exchequer is still lightly raced and it is worth noting he finished 1.5 lengths behind Kingston Hill as a two-year-old.
Connections won this race two years ago with Numeral and they could be celebrating another success on Wednesday evening.
