Kempton Tips: Calypso Choir
Will need a good start from stall 9 but not beaten far last time out and ran well over course and distance in November.
Calypso Choir has a tricky draw to overcome in the 2.40 Kempton but if he displays the same gate speed he did at Chelmsford there is a good chance he can grab a lead at the first turn.
Last time out Calypso Choir set a strong pace (100.2% finishing speed) but just tired in the last 100 yards and was beaten by half a length. Mitch Godwin will need to find a way of getting a breather into the horse but he almost managed it at the start of November.
Again, hampered by a tricky draw, Calypso Choir battled for the lead and was only beaten by a neck in a class 3 handicap.
This afternoon’s test is fractionally easier on paper (he had last time out winner Outrage behind him at Kempton) but much will depend on the start. Break well and the race is there for the taking.
