Kempton Tips: Brown Pete
Did well to finish third last time despite setting a very strong gallop. Has too much ability for this grade.
Money is often a strong guide to the chances of an Ann Stokell runner and we could be on the verge of a big plunge for Brown Pete in the 7.45 Kempton.
Last time out at Wolverhampton he set an unsustainably strong early pace but kept on gamely to finish third only 2.25 lengths behind the winner.
The final 2f finishing speed was 96.4% of the overall speed and those that cut out the running finished tired; fellow pace-setters Les Gar Gan and Eium Mac filled the last two positions.
Brown Pete’s performance deserves a big upgrade given the way the race panned out.
Racing off a career low mark in basement company, he has enough ability to win given an even paced ride. His strike rate is good and a mile is his ideal trip. At 11/2 (Boylesports) he is a cracking bet.
