Keeps letting backers down at short prices but not always her fault. Ran a rapid 22.51s closing sectional in defeat at Wolverhampton, 7th fastest at track from last 1480 runners.
Plenty of punters have had their fingers burnt by Island Of Life. She’s started a short price favourite on each of her last four starts and lost them all. On at least a couple of occasions punters can count themselves unlucky.
Last time out at Newbury she went down by a short-head despite running the fastest closing sectional and before that she was undone by an odd pace scenario at Wolverhampton. That day the leader went off too quick but the rest sat too far behind. Georgia Cox was guilty of that on the 4-year-old, not helped by a slow start. Her closings sectional of 22.51s was rapid but she was left with too much to do.
To put it into context, Island Of Life’s closing sectional was the 7th fastest at the track from the last 1480 runners.
