Kempton Tip: Hathiq
Runner-up in his first two starts and although might appear frustrating his last maiden was above average.
Hathiq has finished second in two starts and although he will have burnt some punter’s fingers he’s not one to give up on yet.
On debut at Newmarket he was the moral victor after a slow start cost him the race. He got too far back in a steadily run race and despite running the fastest closing sectional by 0.38s he failed by a head.
Well fancied at Newbury on his second start, he was too keen in the early part of the race and didn’t have enough in the tank to fight off the closers. Those around him were useful with the winner contesting the Group 2 Champagne Stakes next time out and the third and fifth winning maidens on their next start. Hathiq can win a fair maiden and the 6.25 Kempton falls into that category.
