Kempton Tip: Glenalmond

Kempton Tip: Glenalmond

First signs of life for new trainer when finishing strongly off a solid gallop at Kempton. More of the same can see him go close.

Much as I like Multitask, he’s approaching the top of his handicap mark and had everything go his way when he won at Lingfiled two starts back. Pendo set a furious gallop and he was able to pick up the pieces but he might not have things quite so easy.

In terms of pure closers, he will have Glenalmond for company. A new recruit for Dan Steele, he’d shown precious little for new connections but cheek-pieces and a switch to the all-weather precipitated a revival.

After a sluggish start, he raced in rear behind a solid gallop. Forced to weave through horses, he stayed on nicely clocking the fastest closing sectional and making up 2.65 lengths on the winner.

Once rated 107, he is nowhere near as good but he still retains ability and a mark of 73 doesn’t look beyond him.
