Kempton: Equitation
Yard hit form again with five winners from last six runners. Equitation well handicapped after quiet 2020 and record in class 4 handicaps is 132041. Fastest closer off steady pace two starts back.
On Saturday I remarked how pleasing it was to see Stuart Williams amongst the winners, well at the time of writing five of his last six runners have won!
The yard have clearly turned a corner but he’s still got plenty of well handicapped horses to fire, starting with Equitation. He enjoyed a tremendous 2019, winning twice and rarely finishing outside of the places, the year just gone was much quieter but the ability remains. Two starts back he showed a tremendous turn of foot to close from rear, off a steady pace. His was the fastest closing sectional and he earned an adjusted speed rating of 87.
Upped into class 2 company he finished sixth on his next start but was only beaten 1.5 lengths in blanket finish. Down in grade and over his optimum trip of 6f, he has conditions to suit in the 7.15 Kempton. A mark of 83 is very workable and his record in class 4 handicaps is 132041
