Keep Faith In Secular Society

Went off far too quickly in his last race but should find life easier down in grade. Record in class 5 contests is 32311.

Secular Society bumped into the useful Zugzwang twenty days ago but he still ran a fine race and the 5.45 Bath looks easier.

The 5-year-old is a straightforward horse, he likes to race from the front and the key is judging the fractions correctly.

Unfortunately, Fergus Sweeney went off too fast last time at Bath. The finishing speed was 97.2% compared to the average race speed, which means the leaders came home much slower than par. In the circumstances, Secular Society did well to keep going for second place.

This afternoon he races over the same course and distance but crucially drops down in class. He should therefore be racing against slower horses and on firm ground, he could give them the slip if getting a soft lead.

His record in class 5 contests is 32311 and he is a cracking bet at 6/1 (Bet365)
