Kachy Me If You Can
Ran a rapid sectional at Chester on debut and earned a big pace adjusted speed rating.
Royal Ascot form shapes the betting market for the Molecomb (3.45 Goodwood) but I think it’s being overplayed.
Take King Of Rooks for example. He finished third in the Norfolk with Richard Hannon saying he ‘paid the penalty that day for getting in a duel with Log Out Island’.
That is not what the sectional timings say. King Of Rooks’s finishing speed was 97.1% which is nearly par for the track, perhaps he was beaten because he wasn’t good enough?
The value lies away from Ascot form and Kachy looks an exciting prospect and a good bet at 5/1 (William Hill).
He won a novice event on debut at Chester with a noteworthy performance on the clock. He ran comfortably the fastest closing sectional on the card, 0.5s faster than the next best, which came in a 3yo+ 0-90 handicap.
When adjusting for sectionals, he earned a sizeable speed rating of 94. He should improve for the run and that puts him right in the mix for this Group 3 sprint.
