Haydock Tips: Soie D'Leau
Won this race last year off a 3lbs higher mark and has almost identical conditions. Silvestre De Sousa an added bonus.
Soie D’Leau won this race twelve months ago and off a 3lbs lower mark, on similar ground he can double up.
A depreciating handicap mark might be seen as a negative in some circles but Soie D’Leau has run plenty of good races this season. Scratch his run at Chester from a wide draw and he hasn’t been beaten by more than four lengths on his last four starts.
In this ultra competitive handicaps you need plenty to go right to score and the soft ground could be the key. Soie D’Leau has won and finished runner-up on soft before and he also has the advantage of Silvestre De Sousa in the saddle, a rare booking for Kristin Stubbs.
I expect connections have earmarked this race for quite some time and the price is a touch bigger than expected.
