Haydock Tips: Mappin Time

Mappin Time spent most of the winter racing off a career high mark in the 90s and acquitted himself well. Back for a turf campaign, he starts with a lenient rating of 83 and could capitalise on the handicapper’s generosity in the 4.45 Haydock.

His form on the all-weather has been good and although his strike rate on grass is worse, Haydock is his favourite track. His record at the venue when racing at 6f is 3134 and he won at this meeting back in 2012.

Last time out he clocked an adjusted speed rating of 90 over a 5f trip that seems a bit sharp for him nowadays. Tim Easterby has his string in good form and Mappin Time could provide him with another winner.
