Haydock Tip: Staxton
Earned whopping speed rating on debut and although beaten last time at York it was a fine run in defeat.
Staxton was unable to follow up his surprise debut victory when running second at York but he lost nothing in defeat and ran another good speed figure. It might be that he bumped into a good horse last time but he’s a talented performer in his own right.
On debut he earned an adjusted speed rating of 92, big for a two-year-old especially from a yard whose horses tend to need a run.
Staxton has a 6lbs penal to shoulder but this looks easier on paper and it will take a good horse to beat him.
