Hamilton Tips: Ambitious Icarus
Unlucky loser at Ripon on last start; made good progress from rear into a quickening pace, despite having to be switched around the entire pack.
Ambitious Icarus ran an eye-catching race at Ripon twelve days ago and can gain compensation in the 4.15 Hamilton.
After a sluggish start he was held-up in rear behind a slow pace, as the first two home made all with a finishing speed of approximately 100.6%.
Ambitious Icarus was trapped on the rail and had to switch round the entire field to make up ground into a quickening pace. With 10 stone on his back, it was a near impossible task but to his credit he was only beaten 2.5 lengths.
The 5-year-old came out as the moral winner once adjusting for sectional timings and should go well at 6/1 (Betfred) on going that suits him.
Robert Winston in the saddle is another positive; he has a 33% strike rate (8-24) for Richard Guest generating £63.75 profit to £1 stakes over the past five seasons.
