Hamilton Tip: Laugh A Minute
Lightly raced sprinter who finished last season with a big win at Doncaster. Fastest closer by 0.5s and earned adjusted speed rating of 98. Got no run on return at Ascot.
The 3.30 Hamilton is a good race to bet in because the favourite is opposable. Sir Dancealot has a lofty rating of 111 but three of his wins came as a juvenile and he is 1/12 since then. His runs at Newmarket and York were good but his last win came in a conditions event over 7f, late in the season at Doncaster - i’m not convinced.
Visionary is better than handicap mark of 98 but this isn’t a handicap and is best saved for another occasion. The horse with all the positives is Laugh A Minute. His last run at Ascot is best ignored, he was hampered but last season he finished on a high, winning a valuable sales race at Doncaster.
He was the fastest closer that day by 0.5s and earned an adjusted speed rating of 98. He’s lightly raced and should still be improving with age.
