Gulliver Travels

Unlucky in Doha when trapped on the rail. Could possibly have won that race and has run a 21.79s closing sectional at Lingfield. Overpriced.

When interviewed after the Durkan Sprint, Hugo Palmer wittily surmised that ‘Gulliver travel’ and not only does he distance terms but also during his races. That third place in Doha could prove to be a useful bit of form. They seemed to go very hard early on and Gulliver was poised to pounce before being hampered by the runner-up on the rail; this allowed Intisaab to swoop down the outside and win.

It was a similair story when the pair finished behind Kachy over course and distance in February. This time Gulliver had a wide draw to overcome and although he looked a little outpaced (which is a concern) he came home in 21.79s, the fastest closing sectional of the contest.

In defeat he earned an adjusted speed rating of 101 and he can be rated alongside the main protagonists for the All-Weather Sprint Final. He is well drawn in stall 1 and shouldn’t be 25/1.
