Guishan Can Keep Appleby Rolling
Course and distance record is 2413411 and better than bare result last time. First race on the Fibresand this winter.
This is one of Mick Appleby’s quieter seasons on the all-weather but as we discussed last week his runners always deserve respect, especially at Southwell where he enjoys a 19% strike rate.
Guishan is one of his string who enjoys an excellent record on the Fibresand especially at 6f where her record is 2413411.
This is her first start at Southwell this winter, her high mark limiting opportunities at the track. Last time out she finished 11th at Wolverhampton but was travelling strongly for the majority of the race before encountering trouble.
Strong travellers often go well on the Fibresand, which favours those of a galloping nature. She is down to her last winning mark and is overpriced at 7/1 (Bet365).
