Great St Wilfrid: Lampang
Blew the Stewards' Cup by giving everyone a 5 length headstart and beaten by about the same margin. Previous course and distance winner and keeps running well in trying circumstances.
Our bet for the Stewards’ Cup went up in smoke as Lampang was slowly away giving everything else a headstart of at least 5 lengths. Considering that catastrophic setback he was beaten by approximately the same margin, despite racing on what appeared the slower side of the track.
Everything I wrote about him at Goodwood still stands. As an added bonus we get slightly better ground (although Lampang seems adaptable) and he is a previous course and distance winner. Time to go in again…..
