Grand National Tips: Soll

Grand National Tips: Soll - Horse Racing

Finished 7th in the 2013 Grand National but his form has been elevated to a new level since joining David Pipe.

The Grand National is such an unusual race that past experience could prove invaluable for Soll, who finished seventh in the 2013 edition.

For numerous years he has been lurking towards the bottom of the handicap without ever being good enough to have a serious chance in the race. That has all changed now he’s moved to David Pipe.

He’s won both starts for his new handler, recording Racing Post Ratings of 142-152, comfortably better than anything he’s achieved before.

A slight change in training methods plus the combination of a tongue-tie and blinkers has worked the oracle. His stamina was never in question but now he is showing a bit of class too.

Racing off a mark of 139, he looks extremely well handicapped and with a bit of luck he should run well at 20/1 (Paddy Power) with 1/4 odds for a top-5 finish.
