Goodwood Tips: Snow Sky
Paid the price for chasing a strong pace at Royal Ascot but his Lingfield Derby Trial win was impressive and his trainer has an excellent record in the race.
Sir Michael Stoute has won the Gordon Stakes (2.30 Goodwood) seven times during his training career and he has another live contender in Snow Sky.
Winner of the Lingfield Derby Trail back in May, he never made it to the Epsom show-piece but he’s obviously held in high regard.
Last time out he finished 4th in the King Edward VII Stakes but he suffered from chasing a strong gallop; the overall finishing speed of the race was 97.9% as the leaders tired in the straight.
I suspect he is still capable of getting the trip, especially on a sharper track and he’s a good bet at 4/1 (BetVictor).
