Ran well in unsuitable conditions last time, soft ground steady pace. Returns to his favourite track and a fast surface.
Pastoral Player has a good record at Goodwood and can score again at his favourite track.
Twelve months ago he won this race off 84 and although his mark is 5lbs higher his form is good. Last time out he was undone by soft ground and a steady pace at Doncaster but was only beaten 0.25 lengths and earned a big speed rating under the circumstances.
A two-time winner at the track, arguably he returns in better form than when winning a year ago.
Charlie Bennett has struck up a good rapport with the horse and his 5lbs claim could make the difference.
