Goodwood Tips: Imvula
Finished fifth on debut but matched the winner’s closing sectional in a slowly run race. First two have won again since.
Imvula finished a never nearer fifth on debut at Nottingham but she should improve for the experience and was perhaps unfortunate to find herself contesting an above average maiden.
Held-up in rear, she was poorly positioned in a steadily run race (107.1% finishing speed) that turned into a sprint finish.
The camera angle at Nottingham didn’t do her justice because she rallied strongly in the last 3f and her closing sectional was only 0.02s slower than that of the winner.
The first two home won on their next start, which suggests Imvula should be up to winning a small race at 5/2 (William Hill).
