Forecast Favours Great Park

Forecast Favours Great Park

Ran well against a strong pace bias at Newmarket and any rain works in his favour.

Heavy rain is forecast all day at Ascot and by the time the 4.05 contest takes place the going description could contain the word soft.

This is good news for Great Park because he is better with some cut in the ground, at the end of last season he won by 3.25 lengths in soft conditions at Newmarket.

The weather isn’t the only recommendation for Green Park, he also ran a blinder at the July Festival against a strong pace bias. Prominently ridden horses enjoyed an advantage all week and he was one of the few horses to make any headway from off the pace.

Three-year-olds have an excellent record in the race with finishes of 2123227411 over the past ten years; the younger generation beating 86% of their rivals during that period.

Exosphere and Azmaam (also did well against pace bias at Newmarket) are the main dangers but Great Park will enjoy the rain and still looks reasonably well handicapped off his current mark.
