Epsom Dash: Stone Of Destiny

Has Sunday Sovereign on the rail as pacemaker and showed devastating burst when winning the Portland. Ran well at Goodwood, fastest closer by 0.44s and something similar will suffice.

If King Power get their tactics right the Epsom Dash is there for the taking. Sunday Sovereign has the plum draw in stall 19 and the early speed to make all; if that plan fails then Stone Of Destiny can sit-in behind him deliver his stronger closing burst.

He showed at the Portland what he’s capable of when getting a strong gallop and although he carries top weight at Epsom he’s only 3lbs higher than his excellent run at Goodwood. That day he was badly positioned in a contest where it paid to race handy (small field / steady early pace) but he was the fastest closer by 0.44s and unlucky to lose.

The Epsom Dash often has hard luck stories but with two horses in the same ownership, with excellent draws and different running styles, you make your own luck.
