Easton Angel Due Compensation

Easton Angel Due Compensation

Ran a huge race at Royal Ascot in defeat and would have given the winner a race from a better draw.

Looking back at Royal Ascot my most frustrating moment (of many) was when Easton Angel finished second to Acapulco in the Queen Mary.

It was a terrific performance considering the winner was built like a 4-year-old but more than anything she was beaten by the draw.

From stall 1, Easton Angel raced on the opposite side of the track to Acapulco (drawn 20) and she had nothing to race with for the final furlong, having ‘won’ her side comfortably.

Easton Angel actually ran the fastest sectional of the race and if she’d been drawn nearer Acapulco she may even have won. Nevertheless, she ran earned a huge speed rating and can confirm her class by winning the 2.40 Newmarket.
