Easton Angel Back On Track
Second behind Acapulco at Royal Ascot and may have won from a better draw. Struggled over 6f and drops back in trip, in an easier race.
It is a shame to see Easton Angel contesting a Listed race at Ayr (4.15) because after her second place at Royal Ascot she was destined for much better things.
She only finished 1.5 lengths behind the beast that is Acapulco in the Queen Mary and would have been even closer if she’d been drawn on the same side. She actually ran a faster closing sectional and considering Acapulco was runner-up in the Nunthorpe the form rates very highly indeed.
Since then she’s been beaten in the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes and Lowther Stakes. She’s had her sights lowered this afternoon but more importantly she reverts back to 5f.
If it wasn’t for Acapulco she’d be unbeaten at the trip. She is the top rated horse in the race and will take all the beating at 5/6 (Paddy Power).
