Don’t Be Shy At Ascot
Big improver on the all-weather this winter but something clearly amiss on his last start. Easy to forgive one poor performance.
Shyron was a deeply progressive horse on the all-weather during the winter, winning three times before something went wrong on his last start.
Sent off the 3/1 favourite he finished last, when never travelling. Nothing was found in the post-race examination but clearly that wasn’t his true form.
I’m happy to forgive one poor run and instead focus on his win at Lingfield on 23 January.
From a poor draw he was forced to race wide throughout the race, normally an impossible task but Shyron managed it, winning a competitive handicap by a length.
His sectionals over the winter confirm he is a smart horse and he is still reasonably well handicapped off a mark of 93.
Stall 27 looks a good draw and George Margarson knows how to win the race, having won it with Excellent Guest two years ago.
