Doncaster Tips: Sirius Prospect
Only a matter of time before he reaches Group 1 standard; should be too good for his rivals.
Last season I highlighted Sirius Prospect as one of the best sprinters in the UK and I cannot leave him unbacked in the 2.40 Doncaster.
He won his last four races of 2011, with a couple of victories salvaged from hopeless positions. Only a very good horse could have won from the poor draws he received at Doncaster and York. He is surely a Group horse in waiting.
He would normally be a two-point banker but his potential is largely reflected in the price, plus we don’t know how he has fared over the winter. Nevertheless, these are only small drawbacks as I rate him good enough to win the Group 1 Golden Jubilee sprint at Royal Ascot.
At 9/4 (William Hill) I’m happy to have a small interest and cheer home one of the most exciting sprinters around.
