Doncaster Tips: Sheriff Of Nawton
Twice undone by the combination of a sharp track and steady pace. Should enjoy return to turf.
The flat season makes a welcome return on Saturday but to solve the 4.50 Doncaster we have to look at all-weather form.
Sheriff Of Nawton has been undone by a very steady gallop on his last two starts (both 110%+ finishing speed) and back on turf he’s likely to enjoy the stronger pace generated by bigger fields.
The 4-year-old travels well in his races but can sometimes take a few strides to up his pace and that is a problem on sharp turning tracks. Doncaster is much more galloping in nature and is likely to play to his strengths.
Sheriff Of Nawton won on grass twice last season and he still looks feasibly handicapped on his recent all-weather efforts.
