Doncaster Tips: Mecca’s Angel

Michael Dods described her as the quickest horse he’s ever had and that looked a fair assessment the way she demolished handicaps earlier in the season.

Reckless Abandon heads the market for the 3.00 Doncaster based on what he achieved as a two-year-old, however he hasn’t won since and his comeback run last month was only ok.

The Godolphin recruit was prominent in an evenly run race and couldn’t pick up in a bunched finish. The overall time for the grade was ordinary and he’ll have to improve a lot to win this.

There is plenty of pace throughout the field and that could help the keen going Mecca’s Angel.

Earlier in the season, she was demolishing 3-year-old handicaps to the point Michael Dods described her as the quickest he’s ever had.

She came unstuck in a Listed contest at Maison-laffitte but it was a hot race, comprising the best young sprinters in France. She pulled very hard therefore a 4 lengths defeat wasn’t too bad.

She has been given a break since but 7/1 (Ladbrokes) is a big price if recapturing the brilliance of earlier this season.
