Doncaster Tips: Fairway To Heaven

Guilty of several lacklustre this season but we saw a glimmer of his talents when he won impressively at Windsor. Given one last chance from a good draw.

The last two times I’ve tipped Fairway To Heaven he’s finished 11/19 and 15/19 normally this would be the signal to give up on a horse but big price winners are never obvious.

Firstly, I’ll get the excuses out of the way.

At Ripon, held up in rear he never got involved having picked up a knock during the race.

At York, he blew the start and was never going to win thereafter; he could do so again but we are compensated by the price.

On the plus side, he has run well at Doncaster before and Jim Crowley takes the ride for the first time since winning on his debut.

The main reason I cannot give up on this horse is because of his Windsor run during the summer. He clocked a fast time for the grade despite running in a sub-optimal manner.

I’m convinced there is talent locked away and I’m sure Michael Wigham will find it again.

He is well drawn in stall 17, with plenty of pace around him and at 28/1 (William Hill) he’s given another chance.
