Doncaster: Rathbone
Working way down handicap and style of racing makes him of interest in big field sprint. Wouldn't want going any worse than good and arrives with a couple of good AW runs under his belt.
Rathbone spent last season fighting a mark in the 90s but he struck me as a horse who could win a big field sprint handicap. He is a strong traveller and needs a good pace to aim at but he should get that in a big field.
At his best on good or better he is a capable sprinter and was unlucky when caught on the line by Fortamour in a class 2 handicap at Ascot last September. The pair reoppose at Doncaster on Sunday but the price difference is difficult to fathom.
Rathbone has run a couple of good races on the all-weather and therefore fitness shouldn’t be an excuse. He should run a good race at a price.
