Poolstock might still be a maiden after 15 starts but he’s shown enough this season to think there is a little race in him.

He was well beaten last time out in a hot class 5 handicap but dropped down in grade he stand’s a chance.

Last time he raced over course and distance he finished third, beaten 2.25 lengths but running an eye-catching race.

Poolstock travelled noticeably well against the rail and ran the fastest closing sectional of both divisions of the sprint handicap. If was a good performance considering he was in the strongly run division because you’d expect the faster finish to come in the more slowly run (early pace) race.

Well drawn in stall five, if David Allen can adopt a stalking position on the rail with a bit of luck nothing will be finishing faster. At 12/1 (BetVictor) he is a cracking bet.
